Twelve Monkeys (1995) Review

In the future the world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

James Cole (Bruce Willis) is the convict who is sent back in time, to attempt to uncover how the virus came about. Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt) is in the mental institute in 1990 when James gets sent back in time (attempting to send him back to 1996). I must admit you really do have a pay attention throughout the film, as it would be extremely easy to lose the plot of it. With Cole going back and fowards to different times, and the talk of the present being rather confusing and with the different flashback/dreams that Cole was having from when he was a child.

I think this is a movie which needs to be watched more than once, to pick up on all of the different themes and what some of it means. As I am sure I missed a lot as it was quite difficult at times to keep up with what was going on, with the whole going back and forwards in time thing going on.

Having Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt in one film was certainly huge in the 90s and such great casting and that is something that makes this film into a big hit. The different and rather well messed up storyline was also something that was unique from start to finish in this film.
