Having seen Dreamgirls on Friday night I thought it was more than worth having this as the Musical Moment this Monday! With three different versions of the song, considering Amber Riley aka Mercedes from Glee was in the show first here is the clip of her performing from Graham Norton just before Dreamgirls opened in the West End.
After seeing the incredible Dreamgirls on Friday night read my review here! I also waited at the stage door and was lucky enough to meet some of the cast members, unfortunately Amber Riley didn’t come out that way. (more…)

Lin-Manuel Miranda is pretty amazing let’s face it In The Heights is an incredible show and he has been taking Broadway by storm with Hamilton was has been pretty impossible to get tickets for by the sounds of it!
When it was announced that the show would be coming to the West End I just knew that meant I would be having another trip to London. So signed up for the priority access which was open from June to October 2016, I am assuming I signed up in June.
Over the years I have spend hundreds of pounds, actually probably closing in if not over a thousand. I would honestly be too scared to count up all of the ticket prices on shows both as touring versions coming to the North East and on many trips down to London for the West End shows.
With all of that though I also stumbled across something called “day seats” if you are not aware these are seats that are sold cheaper on the day of the show direct from the Theatre it is being performed at, usually opening at 10am.
Most day seats were kept in the front row, but that depends on Theatre/Show.
Here I go with an overview of my 2016 of theatre trips to see musicals and plays. Touring shows that have come to the North East at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle and the Sunderland Empire. As well as managing to have a few trips down to London to take in what the West End has to offer! You can check out the list of shows here. I have somehow managed to out do 2015 catching 31 shows in 2016!
Do you hear the people sing? Let’s take a look back at my 2016 at the Theatre.
