Dom gets sucked into a different world when a woman somehow gets him to do something for her, which puts him on the opposite side to his team!
I thought I would put together a new list this year for what I saw in 2016 (here) with the standout female performances of the year, this is going to combine the whole leading and supporting roles. Just what I have been really impressed with!
Let’s take a look at who made the list . . . (more…)
Dalton Trumbo was one of the top writers in Hollywood but in 1947 he was jailed and blacklisted along with other artists for their political beliefs.
A truly suspenseful film which looks at the implications of modern warfare.
Maria Altmann is a Jewish refugee who fled to America from Austria when the Nazi’s took over. She now wants the artwork back that she believes belongs to her family and was taken unlawfully.
It’s getting to that time of year when all the more serious films come out ready for awards season, well the Golden Globe nominations for 2015 are out. Having a look at the lists only about half of the films have hit the cinema in the UK so far. But I have seen quite a few of the trailers for the other films as well. So at least it gives an idea of which ones to look out for and head to see. Usually these are pretty good predictors for who will be nominated at the Oscars as well.
The Golden Globes are usually good to watch and more relaxed than the Academy Awards. Probably a few surprises in these nominations and some quite big films missing out!
I have decided to put a * next to the films I have already seen!
Best Motion Picture – Drama
The Imitation Game*
The Theory of Everything
This day marks the Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II which is just an incredible occasion. I therefore decided to make a top 10 list of movie queen’s we have seen over the years!
God Save The Queen!
Arthur (Brand) is a loveable billionaire who after many different antics must now marry a woman he hates in order to keep the family fortune he has grown so fond of spending.
A trip down the red carpet before the Oscar ceremony. Often the red carpet is more important than the actually show for fashion reasons.
My favorite dress had to be Reese Witherspoons, so elegant.
The first poster has been released for “The Tempest” starring Helen Mirren. In which a gender switch of the main character has been changed in Shakespeare’s story.
