Summer 2011 at the Movies
As we are entering June, the summer films are going to be coming out thick and fast over the next couple of months. Let’s have a look and see what we have to look forward to! As with most summer films, a lot seem to be based around comic books. We have another installment from X-Men (hopefully doing better than Wolverine) and the much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, which is the last film in the build up to ‘The Avengers’ which is due out next year. A couple of comedies thrown in. But let’s face it, this summer is about the final Harry Potter film, part 2 of the Deathly Hallows. The end of the franchise after 10 years since it all began.
It doesn’t seem that many out and out romantic comedies are going for a summer release (unless of course I have missed them). Definitely more for the action and adventure angle this summer!
What films are you looking forward to most this summer?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Snape
The next in our almost daily fix of the Harry Potter final posters, is the character poster for Snape! Who’s next I wonder?

The Hobbit (2012/2013) – New Names!

As we have known since it was all confirmed properly that Peter Jackson was heading back to middle earth to eventually get ‘The Hobbit’ onto the big screen, we have known that the book will be put into two films. These two films now have names!
The first is, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ which will be released December 14th 2012.
The second installement is ‘The Hobbit: There and Back Again‘ and will be released Decemeber 13th 2013.
I think it’s very nice to see that they are following similar release dates which ‘The Lord of the Rings’ series had. The anticipation is really starting to build for these films and we still have more than a year and a half left to wait. But one thing is for sure we know that they will not disappoint at all!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Draco
The next character poster which has been released is that of Draco Malfoy!

Top 10 – Captain Jack Sparrow Quotes
Since we first saw Captain Jack Sparrow back in 2003 in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, everyone loved him. The fourth film in the pirates franchise was released last week, that being On Stranger Tides. These films all work so well due to the fantastic acting from Johnny Depp as Captain Jack. Throughout all four films we are given so many funny and fantastic lines which make them so loveable.

So here we go in a top 10 count down of Captain Jack Sparrow’s best lines from all four films!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Voldemort
The next character poster is none other than the Dark Lord . . . Voldemort

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Neville

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Ron
Had a feeling the third character poster would be the lovable Ron Weasley!

Tony Awards 2011
The 2011 Tony Awards are taking place in a couple of weeks now and a lot of my favorite actors and actresses are going to be attending the event. I think its also very good to see how many of them have crossed over from the stage to the silver screen and starring in many different films.

Daniel Radcliffe, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Whoopi Goldberg will present Tonys during the June 12 ceremony honoring Broadway’s best.
Also slated to hit the stage at the Beacon Theater are Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson, Kelsey Grammer, Viola Davis, Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones and Harry Connick, Jr.
Christie Brinkley, David Hyde Pierce, Marg Helgenberger, Matthew Broderick, Angela Lansbury, Jim Parsons, Joel Grey, Patrick Wilson and Robert Morse will also appear.
Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris returns to host the 65th annual show, after a successful attempt last year.
I actually attended the 2008 Tony Awards when Whoopi Goldberg was the presenter.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Hermione
After the Harry Potter character poster yesterday another new one has appeared today that being of Hermione Granger. I think we are going to keep seeing new ones for a while now!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2011) Poster – Harry
The second poster for the final film installment of Harry Potter has been released and I am sure more will follow very soon!

Best of British in Harry Potter
The Harry Potter film series has done wonders for the British film industry over the years and also been able to showcase so many talents in the films as well. We certainly do see the best of British in the series. Some with big parts throughout all (or most) of the films. While others have smaller parts, or even just cameos. But they really have been such a credit for showcasing the talent which is on offer in Britain. A lot of the actors and actress are held in high regard in the theatre world. Some of my favorite actors and actress have appeared in the film series which is so refreshing to see so many of them in the same films.
A lot of well-respected actors appear in the films bringing life to the much-loved characters from the books.
Alan Rickman – Severus Snape

A very well-loved actor who always seems to be the bad guy. But is he always the bad guy in the Potter series? Well that’s the difficult thing to figure out. One minute you love Snape and the next you hate him, you love to hate him and I don’t think anyone but Rickman could have you thinking that about a character.
Thor (2011) Review

The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard after dishonouring his father and sent to live among humans on Earth, without his powers!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) Review

Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) returns for the fourth time in this journey to strange tides in search for the fountain of youth. But he is not the only one who is searching for it.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) Review

We head back to Hogwarts for second year. Although something or someone is trying to stop Harry from getting back. He receives no letters from Ron or Hermione over the summer, then cannot get through the barrier at King’s Cross to get on the Hogwarts express. But what is he being warned against?
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001) Review

Harry Potter (Radcliffe) is a legend in the Wizarding world, yet he had no idea he was a Wizard until his eleventh birthday when Hagrid (Coltrane) turns up after problems with his Hogwarts letter.
Friends with Benefits (2011) Poster
Two of the best looking young actors in Hollywood in this film with the title ‘Friends with Benefits’ can pretty much tell us what the film is going to be about and I am sure we can guess how it is going to end. But maybe it will surprise us?

Julia Roberts still a Pretty Woman

With the up and coming film Larry Crowne due for release soon Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks took part in a photo shoot for W Magazine. Julia showing that she has hardly aged at all over the last few decades since her big breakthrough performance as the hooker in Pretty Woman. She has gone on to win and Oscar and was the queen of romantic comedies throughout the 90′s and early 00′s. No one has been able to come close to what she has achieved across different genres. Without a doubt my favorite actress.
Larry Crowne (2011) Poster & Trailer
As you will be well aware if you read my blog often I am a massive Julia Roberts fan! I saw this trailer at the cinema the other week and have to admit that I was very excited to see it for the first time. Looks like it is going to be a very heartwarming film. Better than her last link up with Tom Hanks!
The first poster has also been released:

I will definitely be heading to the cinema to see this film when it is released!
The Muppets (2011) Poster
Yes I do have a slight soft spot for ‘The Muppets’ and will go and see this film when it hits UK cinemas in early 2012. First poster to be released (I am sure a lot more will follow).

Hanna (2011) Review

16-year-old Hanna (Ronan) who was raised by her father Erik (Bana) to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent Marissa (Blanchett) and her operatives.
The Harry Potter World

I have eventually well and truly entered the Harry Potter world and I love it! Yes I have now seen all of the films and very much looking forward to the release of the Deathly Hallows: Part II. But up until seeing Part I last year I hadn’t even seen all of the films (Yes that did cause some confusion as somethings that were going on I had no clue about). But since seeing that film I bought the full collection of the books and over the past week I have read the 3rd and half way through the 4th and they really are just fantastic. Whilst reading I keep thinking why haven’t and didn’t I read these years ago! I was the ideal age when the first one was released that J.K. Rowling was going for.
This has inspired me to re-enter the film world after reading the books, which in all honesty probably won’t take me much longer as they are so addictive to read. Loving every second of them. So well written and thought out. I know doing it the wrong way round after seeing the films but everyone keeps telling me that the differences are easy to notice while getting further through the books.
In the build up to the final film release my blog is going to be totally taken over by Harry Potter! I plan on top 10 lists, a deep look into the characters and in general a celebration of the most successful British film franchise of all time. How many actors are involved and how important it really has been in the film industry. A lot of my favorite British actors have featured in the Potter films as well.
Kick-Ass (2010) Review
A teenager who is a massive comic book fan one day decides that he will become a superhero, despite having no special powers or training. He decides people need protecting and that Kick-Ass (Johnson) can over that protection!
Something Borrowed (2011) Review

Rachel (Goodwin) and Darcy (Hudson) have been best friends since they were children, but will they always be best friends? That is the question which we end up being faced with when we find out the true story behind Darcy’s fiance Dex (Egglesfield) and his long friendship with Rachel as they met in Law School.
