The King’s Speech (2010) Poster – PG
The King’s Speech is being released in the US with a PG rating release (swearing cut out) and they have a new poster, which I just had to blog because it is such a lovely poster. Aiming the film more at the family audience.

Aaarrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!!! Sorry but this really annoys me. It’s so stupid to cut out words (in a film about language) because someone, somewhere decided they were offensive. The film is already a great family film. It doesn’t need to be watered down and rebranded.
It’s particularly nauseating that they’ve chosen a picture where he’s holding his daughter for the poster. It’s the worst kind of patronising, hand-holding, spoon fed advertising that is exploiting the phobia of ever offending anyone.
*end rant.
