This picture taken during summer 2009 when I went out to Massachusetts and spent a few days at a beach house and this happened . . .
A rather inspirational quote from Unfaithful, which is something that you should remember when you have choices to make.
“I think this was a mistake” “There is no such thing as a mistake, there are things you do and things you don’t do.”
I decided to have a search and see if Let’s Go To The Movies made it onto the list and we most certainly did on the second page: http://www.totalfilm.com/features/600-movie-blogs-you-might-have-missed/page:2. Thanks Total Film!!!
This actually made me very happy especially seeing my blog next to a lot of the blogs I enjoy to read. Also I see this as a chance to have a scroll through some of the 600 listed to see if I can find more blogs I would like to visit more often.
This has been a nice week really, on that 600 list, hitting 100,000 hits and almost a year old for the blog. Good times!
If I hadn’t been so quick to post the first poster released for Wall Street 2 I could have posted the first and second posters together!!! Anyway here is the second poster:
Today’s quote comes from my favorite ever film Million Dollar Baby when we find out what Mo Cuishle means.
“Mo Cuishle means my darling, my blood.”
The first poster has been released for the second installment of Wall Street. I have to admit that I am a rather big Michael Douglas fan so interested to see how this film is going to go.
A man Colin (Ray Winstone) is devasted when his wife tells him that she is leaving him for another man that his friends group together and kidnap the man. All this trying to heal Colin’s ego and let him get revenge by possibly killing the loverboy.
Well I have pretty much had my other blog domain for longer than this film blog. I did not really get into posting very much. But decided that it would be a good idea recently so I can put my random thoughts down and not take up any space on this blog . . . well apart from this post haha.
I have also been working on my own website but hit a break wall with that at the moment. So if you fancy reading more about me and my random moments then check out that blog.
Today’s quote comes from Good Will Hunting and I believe this is very true.
“Real loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself.”
I posted pictures from this event a while ago when Michael Douglas received the lifetime achievement award and watched the video for the first time a few minutes ago. Which Catherine Zeta Jones makes a small speech and then sings a changed version of “One” from A Chorus Line. This results in a very emotional Michael Douglas.
A couple of days ago now my blog hit 100,000 hits.
I thought this was a brilliant achievement as it has occurred in less than a year !!!
I hope people enjoy reading and visiting my blog.
I have plenty of posts in the draft section at the moment so plenty more posts to come.
Today’s quote comes from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
“Nothing is permanent, not even death.”
Four guys go to Vegas for a stag party two days before the wedding. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas . . . but can any of them actually remember what happened in Vegas? Well thats partly the problem they have when they cannot find the groom. So they must backtrack and attempt to figure out what exactly they done the night before.
Today’s quote is from “Nine” is directing a movie really as easy as Judi Dench’s character suggests?
“Directing a movie is a very overrated job, we all know it. You just have to say yes or no. What else do you do? Nothing. “Maestro, should this be red?” Yes. “Green?” No. “More extras?” Yes. “More lipstick?” No. Yes. No. Yes. No. That’s directing.”
Today’s quote comes from one of the many argument scenes from “Closer”. I think this one is pretty hard hitting. . .
“Don’t stop loving me. I can see it draining out of you. It’s me, remember? It was a stupid thing to do and it meant nothing. If you love me enough, you’ll forgive me.”
Today’s quote comes from a brilliant film and a brilliant actor saying it, from “Unforgiven” and Clint Eastwood is the man who says it:
“That’s right. I’ve killed women and children. I’ve killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I’m here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned.”
Today’s quote is another said by Daniel Day-Lewis but from “There Will Be Blood”, telling of his competitive nature.
“I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed. I hate most people.”
The nominations were released this morning for the 2010 BAFTA’s and don’t really seem to have many suprises. I was really hoping that The Damned United would recieve some nominations but that did not happen.
I am very happy to see Alec Baldwin nominated for”It’s Complicated” which he was just fantastic in, lets hope he turns up at the awards.
Today’s quote comes from “Nine” in a heartbreaking scene between Guido and Luisa.
Luisa Contini: Thank you.
Guido Contini: What for?
Luisa Contini: Thank you for reminding me I’m not special. You don’t even see what you do to me. Even the moments I think are ours, it’s just… you working to get what you want.”
Today’s quote is from “As Good As It Gets” when my favorite obsessive complusive disorder man Melvin lets us in on something . . .
“You make me want to be a better man.”
Today’s quote is a confusing and complicated moment for Meryl Streep in “The Bridges of Madison County” when she realises that nothing makes sense in her life anymore.
“And in that moment, everything I knew to be true about myself up until then was gone. I was acting like another woman, yet I was more myself than ever before.”
Some pictures of my favorite actors and actresses. More from the red carpet and some of the winners and presenters. The best moment of the night had to be for Scorsese who was presented his award from Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.
