FlashForward – TV Series

FlashForward is a new TV show,  which is 3 episodes into a run of 22. I have been watching it and pretty much hooked so far, as it’s just so interesting as you never really can see what is going to happen next. In the pilot episode, a mysterious paranormal event causes everyone on the planet to simultaneously lose consciousness for 137 seconds. In the 137 seconds everyone gets a glimpse of what is going to happen 6 months in the future. Everyone’s flashforward pointed to the same date in the future, but what if you did not see anything? Does that mean you will be dead by that date?

A group of FBI Agents in LA begin to try and figure out why exactly everyone lost conciousness and what it all means. Finding out different flashforwards and trying to piece them all together creating a big picture to see what exactly is going to happen or potentially going to happen and if it is possible to stop them from coming true. Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) is one of the agents really wanting to figure out what his flashforward meant as he was sure that he figures out who or what caused it all.

The team are also trying to figure out if it will happen again. Different events occur which take everyone a step closer to there flashforward coming true. Which is very strange as they are all still trying to come to terms with what they saw. However, some people are very happy with their flashforwards and would just love for them to come true. While those who had flashforwards of things which were awful do not want them to come true. Especially if changes happened which they would never have expected and still cannot see happening. So can people change what seems destined to happen? That will hopefully be a question that will be answered over the series and next episodes.

Episode 1 – showed when the flashforward’s first occurred and the beginning of the investigation of how, why and if it would happen again. With everyone talking about what they saw, when everyone became unconscious it caused a lot of car crashes and everything as people were driving. So this caused a lot of accidents which needed to be sorted out.

Episode 2 – Mark’s daughter Charlie eventually told what she saw, and knew D. Gibbon’s was a bad man. The name which is on Mark’s wall in his flashforward, and is therefore a prime suspect so far in the case of who is involved in the whole thing.

Episode 3 – Demetri has a conversation with a woman who tells him the exact date that he will be murdered on. Mark goes to Germany to talk to a former Nazi who was in prison for war crimes who claims he has information on what was going on. He was told that the dead crows are significant in to figuring things out.

So far I am really hooked on this show and so interested to see which direction it goes in over the next 19 episodes of the season. I will probably find myself posting in depth posts after each episode which airs in the UK on a Monday night at 10pm on channel Five. Which is only a few days after it is on in the US which I think is very good, as not really much chance of seeing any spoilers about the show. I have noticed that a lot of people I know are watching this show, so hopefully will be something to talk about. I do not often watch new TV shows like this, wanting to see the next episode and wonder what happens next. So hopefully this show will keep me wanting to see what happens next and look forward to the next episode. So far so good!

What is everyone else’s views on this show?

Orlando Bloom Picture of the Day 4

Today’s picture is when Orlando won an MTV Movie award and had to do his speech by video link.

Toy Story 3 (2010) Official Trailer

The official trailer for the third Toy Story film has eventually been released and it looks like parts of it are going to be difficult to watch. But also sooooo good at the same time . . . the toys are coming back!

Nine (2009) Release Date Change

I have just read that the release date for Nine has been pushed back from November to December. So delayed for about a month. I have to admit that I am so disappointed as this really is a film I have been looking forward to since it was announced. I think if you have read my blog before you will know that I am a big fan of musicals. So a new movie version of a musical from the director who brought one of my favorite films Chicago made me extremely excited. I still think it will be totally worth the wait, but still such a let down that we have to wait an extra month for it. Hopefully in that time though, the poster will be released, along with another trailer and to top it all off the soundtrack. I really want to listen to the soundtrack before seeing the film, as I like being knowing the songs before seeing a musical.

Up (2009) Review

Eventually the time came to see “Up” I have looked forward to this for way too long now, and lets start this review off by saying it certainly did not disappoint. From the trailer’s and reading about the plot, that still does not really give you much insight into the full story of the film. It has sad parts, funny parts, cute parts, nice parts which equals an overall very good film.

The Woody character poster :-)

RIP Stephen Gately

RIP Stephen Gately

I woke up to the shock news that Stephen Gately has died at the age of 33.

I was a big fan of Boyzone the first time round when they were big, and Stephen was my favorite from the start. It is very tragic when someone dies so young. Thoughts go out to Stephen’s family and friends . . . RIP.

Orlando Bloom Picture of the Day 2

Today’s picture is from the Golden Globes, Orlando giving a thumbs up.

Toy Story 3 (2010) Poster 4

Also released is a 4th poster, which features everyone favorite space ranger none other than Buzz Lightyear.

Toy Story 3 (2010) Poster 3

A third poster for next year’s Toy Story has been released. This one with Hamm . . . with the 3 cleverly placed in the slot where the money goes in . . . yes he is a piggy bank after all.

Toy Story 3 (2010) Poster 2

The second poster for “Toy Story 3″. Rex the dinosaur gets the treatment this time, holding a big 3 in his mouth. They really are not giving us much, but putting out more suspense.

Beaches (1988) Review

This is a story about a friendship which lasted forever, a friendship which was formed in childhood and kept through letters, it had ups and downs, they had fall outs, they did not speak after different events, but in the end they were there for each other when it really mattered.

Orlando Bloom Picture of the Day 1

As I have already mentioned before in the blog, that Lord of the Rings is what made me become a big fan of films. Also at that time I became a fan of Orlando Bloom. I placed him 1st in my sexiest 100 actors list, and decided to take a trip down memory lane in pictures, trying to post a picture everyday of Orlando to see how he has changed over the years.

So here is the first installement to this series of picture of the day. It could go on for a very long time, as had a lot of pictures of him saved over the years, so here it goes . . .

Movie Picture of the Day 21

As it has been way too long since my last movie picture of the day. I decided to use a picture from my favorite ever film “Million Dollar Baby”. Maggie and Frankie at the side of one of her fights.

Up (2009) Pictures

As “Up” is released here in the UK on Friday, I am getting more and more excited to see it. Especially after seeing the trailer in 3D again, before “Toy Story”. So I decided to post the still pictures for the movie. It really does look like its going to be so good. I also want to buy an Up Cup which I spotted at the cinema last week, so will hopefully come away with one of those when I go to see the movie.

Unfaithful (2002) Review

A New York suburban couple Connie (Diane Lane) and Ed’s (Richard Gere) marriage goes astray as Connie has an adulterous fling, with Paul (Olivier Martinez). Risking her marriage and pretty much her lifestyle, for an affair which contains sex like she never had in her marriage. She was bored and ended up spending quite a lot of time with Paul during the day while her husband was at work and their son was at school. I will not reveal what happens at the end as I think the twists it takes are very good. I do like when she has a flashback to the day she met Paul and thinks about the way it should have gone, which I think just helps to show that every decision we make can go two ways and change everything, or you can keep it all the same.

Top 10: Young Actors

I have watched a few movies recently and thought that the actor in it has a fantastic career ahead of them so decided to make a top 10 list of those actors. With a few reasons why  I think they will keep progressing and go on to do great things (potentially), from the movies I have seen them in. I decided to define the young actor, as an actor under the age of 30.

Toy Story (1995) Review

I have to admit that it had been a long time since I had watched “Toy Story” (yes shocking I know) before I went to see it in 3D at the cinema on Friday night. I have to admit it was a very exciting thing to be seeing this film in 3D, it just felt so right that it was in 3D. Yes, you have probably seen it like a thousand times like I have, but still seeing it in 3D was very special. I now cannot wait even more to see the 3rd installment which is coming next year.

Movies Men Cry to . . . by MSN

On my homepage for MSN when coming on line, I noticed that one of the sections was on “Movies Men Cry to”. So decided to not only read it but blog about it and see whether I can actually imagine any of my male friends crying to these movies.

E.T. The Extra Terrestrial is the first up in the list, I can imagine possibly a boy crying if they relate to Elliott and would had to say goodbye to there best alien friend.

The Shawshank Redemption – I have to admit that I did not cry at this one, but have seen it in a few lists of movies that make men cry.  Maybe its the male bonding factor?

American History X – I have yet to see this movie.

The Champ – I have seen this and cried, can understand more why men would cry as well.

Dead Poets Society – Carpe Diem . . . I think anyone of either sex who does not shed a tear or at least fill up at this movie is made of stone or something.

Field Of Dreams – a story about a son’s search for his father “build it and he will come . . . can understand with the father/son relationship being the main topic how it could effect men of all ages.

Forrest Gump – Everyone must shed a few tears at different parts of this film, as Forrest is just not smart enough at times to realise what is going on around him.

Gladiator - I guess this one is because of his love for his family.

Glory – Another which I have not seen.

The Green Mile – This one actually broke my heart, and has to be another of the if you did not shed a tear or fill up you are made of stone movies.

Kramer vs Kramer – The breakfast scene at the end is so sad, can understand the father/son relationship again.

My Life – This is really is heartbreaking, a man making videos for his child to watch so he knows him.

Hotel Rwanda – Have yet to see this movie.

Saving Private Ryan – I found this really hard to watch, mainly for the reason that its so heartbreaking with how real it all looks and seems.

Schindler’s List – This is on my Sky+ to watch

Seabiscuit – Yet to see this movie

Stand By Me – Yet to see this movie

United 93 – I found this really awful to watch, and I am sure everyone else who has seen it has as well.

Watership Down – I cried my eyes out when watching this as a child, although cannot remember much of it now.

It’s A Wonderful Life – It must be quite impossible not to cry to this, what would happen if you were never born.

So my question is to the male population out there, which movies make you cry?

Do they feature in this list?

Ladder 49 (2004) Review

This really is possibly one of the saddest movies I have watched, even though it is pretty clear from the start of the movie what is going to happen at the end. But the way in which it is done is just so heartbreaking, especially with the song “Shine Your Light” by Robbie Robertson playing in conjunction with it.

Nine (2009) Pictures

As I am very excited for this movie to come out (especially after the trailer being on before Fame last week). I decided to post the pictures which have been released as stills of the movie. From the trailer and the pictures below, I am really holding high hopes of loving this movie. Just for the facts that it is a musical and it is directed by Rob Marshall, who directed one of my favorite films in Chicago.

I think this film is just fantastic, with all of the women in the photo. Such fantastic talent in this picture.
